Empowering Youth and Families to Heal, Grow, and Thrive

The Person Behind the Practice

I’m Dr. Saelin, a clinical psychologist dedicated to helping children, teens, and families overcome challenges and find greater ease in life.

With over 18 years of experience, I specialize in helping kids and teens navigate ADHD, trauma, family transitions, grief, and other life challenges. My approach goes beyond traditional therapy by blending evidence-based methods with practical caregiver coaching, cultural responsiveness, and an unwavering focus on strengths. My goal is to empower families with tools that create lasting change and help children thrive.

Success in therapy is defined by you and your family. My goal is to help you achieve the changes you want in your life or redefine goals to embrace what’s achievable and find peace in the process. I want my clients to leave therapy with greater confidence, hope for the future, and a deep belief in their ability to navigate whatever life brings. I strive to ensure every client feels truly seen, accepted, and cared for and knows they had an ally and partner walking alongside them during this part of their journey.

My career has always been about fostering equity and care for those who need it most. I spent over two decades working in community mental health and nonprofit leadership, where I developed innovative programs, trained and supervised clinicians, and led multicultural initiatives. These experiences taught me the importance of systemic change and collaboration—values that guide my work with children and families every day.

While I’ve transitioned into private practice, my commitment to equity and access remains strong. I continue to teach, supervise, and consult pro bono in community mental health settings, contributing to efforts that improve care for marginalized populations.

As a clinician, I tailor therapy to each child’s unique needs, integrating research-based insights and offering interventions that align with your family’s values and your child’s personality. I also recognize that parenting is hard, and I prioritize coaching caregivers in ways that feel realistic and supportive. Whether we’re addressing school advocacy for ADHD, navigating family transitions, or simply working through big emotions, I’m here to provide guidance that works for your family.

I believe therapy should be as dynamic and unique as the child receiving it. Using a culturally-focused and contextual lens, I strive to understand each child’s world and build strategies that align with their strengths, empowering them to thrive. My approach is collaborative, playful, and grounded in evidence-based practices that foster confidence, connection, and growth.

My interventions are individualized and grounded in a relational and strength-based foundation. Together, we’ll build genuine and meaningful connections while enhancing the many competencies you and your child already possess. I often integrate play therapy, family-systems, attachment-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and narrative approaches. My work is grounded in neurodevelopmental evidence and guided by your family’s culture and values.

Some of my favorite moments as a parent are the times when I’m being silly or playing pranks and cracking up laughing with my family. These moments remind me how humor and connection can be powerful tools for navigating even the hardest days—a principle I bring into my work with kids.

When I’m not in the office, you’ll likely find me hiking coastal trails and beaches or adventuring in nature with my family. My years working in animal rescue have shaped my approach to trust and patience, which are central to my work as a psychologist. Creativity also plays a big role in my life—I’m an artist and musician who loves finding new ways to connect and inspire.
